South of Zalew Szczecinski, the fairway becomes narrow and you approach river Odra (ger. Oder). Here you find the city of Szczecin (ger. Stettin), one of the most important ports of Poland.
But Szczecin is not a river town. Close by, you find the delta of river Odra, with lot's of river arms and islands. You also find the big lake Dabie. With all that water, and the low land, Szczecin is more like a sea town.
Approaching
The fairway down to Szczecin has a heavy traffic with cargo ships, and the buoyage is of good quality. If you look up for the big ships, navigation is no problem. You follow the fairway into Odra proper, and onwards to the south. In the area, you find a lot of yacht harbours to choose among. If you want to stay in the vicinity of the town you can berth at Goclaw Marina, north of the town. From the harbour you can go to centre with a tram.
