The lock at Przegalina connects Martwa Wisla with the main river arm of Wisla. The old lock in north is not used anymore, but there are quays there you can berth.
Unstepping the mast
There is a bridge over the lock, only 7,7 m high. (The water level can change). In order to pass a sailing yacht must unstep the mast.
Using the lock
The lock is working workdays 07.00-19.00 and in weekends 07.00-17.00
Wisla
Don't enter Wisla without considering the weather situation. In case of strong winds from north, nasty overfalls are building up on the river, making sailing unpleasant or even dangerous. If the mast is lowered it has to be secured tightly.
Wisla is deep, but the current can be strong. If the vessel is bound eastwards it has to sail 3 Nm against the current up to the lock Glowa Gdanskie (Gdansk head) at the east side of the river. Even here there is a bridge that has to be passed with the mast down.
