Fishing and passenger port 18 km from Narva. Narva proper is situated at the Russian border, some distance up the river. Narva-Jõesuu is a port of entry, and a possible choice when sailing to, or from Russia. The small village near river Narva estuary has a long and beautiful sand beach, and a history as a resort.
Approaching
The harbour is situated on the west side of river Narva. The river mark the border between Estonia and Russia. At the east, Russian side, there is no harbour. The approach into the river inlet have to be done with care. Shallow sand banks are found just outside the inlet. Follow the leading lines in the chart! Strong winds may cause transformation of the depth of the fairway.

Narva-Jõesuu hosts a fishing harbour and a Yacht Club. The river upstream have a strong current, and it's not possible to sail to Narva proper, or to lake Peipus. You visit Narva town by using a bus or Taxi.
Narva
Narva is now a border town, and the population speaks mainly Russian. Narva's strategic location, blocking the way to lake Peipus, has formed the history of the town. Here has important battles been fought, and the old fortifications on both sides of the river are impressing.
It is possible to sail upriver to Narva town, there you find a guest harbour. The river is not navigable between Narva and lake Peipus.
