Hamina is Swedish historical soil. This is the place for the peace treaty between Sweden and Russia 1809 in which Sweden lost Finland. It is also the place of many wars in the 18th century.
Approaching
A fairway leads into town. Visitor's harbours are found at south side of island Tervasaari, and at the adjacent island Pieni Vuohisaari.
