East of mainland Åland and Ledsund at the south cape of Lemland the Ledfjärd Bay opens up towards north. In far north there is a connection with Lumparn Bay and Bomarsund. In the East you find Degerby and island Föglö.
Between them a fairway goes eastwards towards Kökar island. However it is blocked by a low bridge..
To be able to sail eastwards you are forced to sail north, and take the fairway eastwards, north of the whole group of islands. In the NE corner you find Degerby.
To Degerby comes the small ferry, connecting it with mainland Åland. Here you find a cosy yacht harbour, some shops and fuel. The village also provides a good restaurant.
Passing by, Degerby is a nice and practical stop.
Approaching
A confusing number of fairways merge and leads to the harbour. The buoys are numerous. Perhaps you will be too confused if you approach in the night! A yachting chart is a must!
