Landsort PDF Print E-mail

Landsort lighthouse is situated on the southern point of island Öja. It is the southernmost island of the Stockholm archipelago. West of the island, the fairway leads to Södertälje canal, and lake Mälaren. If you sail est of the island, the fairway leads to Nynäshamn and onwards through the Stockholm archipelago.

Öja

The island is elongated in north-south direction. The harbour Norrhamn, with it's guest harbour is situated in north. At the southern point you find the lighthouse village Landsort, and on the point itself, the lighthouse itself.

Landsort-Öja is nature reserve administrated by the archipelago foundation.

Landsort

The lighthouse and the pilot station at Landsort have a history dating back many centuries. But nowadays there rae no pilots living on the island. The lookout post is also closed. The island continues to live on tourism, culture and small business projects.

The guest harbour

The guest harbour is located in NW at Norrhamn. From here, you can take the road down to the village in south.

In south there are two more harbours, the West and East harbour. Here is very little space, and the harbours are only used for local and commercial transports. ELLENnet EOF sign
